The Immigrant

1909. A young Russian Jew immigrates to America and winds up in small-town Texas. Then what?

Come experience this OVATION RECOMMENDED, riveting true story based on the author's grandfather in a powerful and timely production at Sierra Madre Playhouse. Directed by Simon Levy (producing director of The Fountain Theater and its current hit, The Chosen), THE IMMIGRANT is a touching meditation on parents and children, newcomers and natives, Christians and Jews, and on what it means to be an American.

"Levy...reminds us where we come from and helps realign the word 'immigrant' from 'border walls and detention centers' to 'the idealism of what this country stands for.'" Daryl H. Miller, Los Angeles Times

"Touching and intimate, yet without ignoring the tensions of any such tale, it will make one step back and think about what being an immigrant, and particularly a refugee, really means, and why the U.S. has been rightly seen as a place to begin again." ---Frances Baum Nicholson, San Gabriel Valley Tribune

"Don't miss this extraordinary look at a family's journey from hardship to living the American dream, through both heartbreak and wonder." ---Shari Barrett, BroadwayWorld
