TAIKOPROJECT, founded in 2000 in Los Angeles, California, has redefined the art of taiko drumming with their modern American style. This dynamic group of young and emerging taiko drummers, led by Bryan Yamami and Masato Baba, seamlessly blends traditional forms with an innovative and fresh aesthetic, captivating audiences of all ages.
In 2005, TAIKOPROJECT made history as the first American taiko group to claim victory in the prestigious Tokyo International Taiko Contest, surpassing even the most renowned Japanese taiko ensembles.
