About
Join us for a vibrant cultural celebration featuring a live Lion Dance performance by the East Wind Foundation, a cornerstone of Los Angeles Chinatown since 1972. Known for their captivating performances at parades and festivals, the East Wind lion dance troupe showcases intricate choreography, colorful costumes, and thunderous drumbeats while empowering at-risk youth through martial and performance arts. This event celebrates the power of tradition and its role in building confidence, discipline, and cultural pride in the next generation.
Following the performance, Bob Baker Marionette Theater (BBMT), a cherished Los Angeles institution since 1963, will host a hands-on dragon puppet-building workshop. Open to all ages, this interactive activity invites participants to design their own puppets and learn to perform alongside BBMT’s expert puppeteers. With a mission to educate and inspire through the art of puppetry, BBMT continues to bring joy to families while preserving the rich history of Los Angeles entertainment.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a celebration of creativity, culture, and community. It’s an unforgettable experience for the whole family!
