Samarth Nagarkar is a renowned Hindustani classical musician - a singer, educator, and author - celebrated for his mastery of Khayal and his deep commitment to the tradition of raga music. His performances are noted for their emotive depth, meditative quality, and a nuanced blend of the Gwalior, Agra, and Jaipur gharanas, a result of his rigorous training under legendary gurus Ulhas Kashalkar and Dinkar Kaikini. A former scholar at ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata, Samarth has performed at major venues and festivals worldwide, including Lincoln Center (New York), the LearnQuest Conference (Boston), and the Chicago World Music Festival. In addition to his performances, Samarth is the author of the acclaimed book Raga Sangeet and has several solo and collaborative albums to his credit. He is a voting member of The Recording Academy (Grammys) and has been honored with prestigious awards, including the Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in the Arts from NAKA and a Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Samarth is a co-founder of Brooklyn Raga Massive and co-curator of its Colors of Raga concert series. He also leads Raga Sangeet Creative, and has pioneered the use of digital platforms like Patreon for enhanced audience engagement, music education and mentorship.
