His virtuosity as a lead trumpeter was showcased with legendary ensembles such as The Count Basie Orchestra, Duke Ellington Orchestra with Mercer, and The Lionel Hampton Orchestra, among others. A globetrotter and prolific collaborator, Shaheed graced stages and studios alongside luminaries like Eddie Harris, Leroy Vinegar, and Jimmy Smith, enriching their musical tapestry with his unmatched talent.
