
George Shea
PlaywrightGeorge Shea is a playwright, children's author, and environmental activist who in 2011 was arrested with Bill McKibben and 1250 other activists outside the White House protesting the Keystone XL pipeline. His plays have been produced in New York, Williamstown and around the U.S. He is the author of many children's books, including a biography of Rachel Carson and was a regular contributor to NPR's All Things Considered. As a member of the Citizens Climate Lobby in June 2014, George and 700 other CCL members visited more than 500 Congressional offices in Washington, DC, lobbying senators and congressmen to vote for a carbon fee and dividend with revenues collected from fees on fossil fuels distributed to American taxpayers.
